According to Inside the Magic, Central Florida’s weather is expected to shift dramatically from the warm, dry conditions that visitors enjoyed during Christmas week. As December wraps up, the region is bracing for cooler temperatures and windier conditions—not exactly ideal for a day spent in a wave pool or lazy river.
What This Means for Your Visit
While three days might not seem significant, this closure comes during one of the busiest travel weeks of the year. New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day are peak vacation days, and many families were likely counting on Typhoon Lagoon as part of their Disney World itinerary.
The good news? Blizzard Beach, Disney’s other water park, remains open during this period. However, if you had your heart set on Typhoon Lagoon’s signature attractions like the Crush ‘n’ Gusher water coaster or the massive wave pool, you’ll need to reschedule or pivot to other Disney experiences.
