Disney just dropped a surprise announcement that’s going to make EPCOT fans very happy: the brand-new “Soarin’ Across America” attraction is coming to the park by Memorial Day 2026—and Florida’s getting it more than a month before California.
That’s right. While Disney California Adventure won’t debut its version until July 2, 2026, EPCOT guests will be among the first to experience this all-new patriotic flight across the United States. The announcement came on December 3, 2025, as part of Disney’s larger “Disney Celebrates America” campaign honoring the country’s 250th anniversary.
What Makes This Different From the Current Soarin’?
If you’ve ridden Soarin’ Around the World or the original Soarin’ Over California, you know the magic of that hang-glider sensation. The good news? That beloved flying experience isn’t going anywhere. But Disney is filming Soarin’ Across America entirely on location using helicopter crews, capturing sweeping views of America’s natural wonders and iconic cityscapes from coast to coast.
The attraction will also feature a brand-new musical score composed specifically for this version, along with updated scent effects to match the journey across America. Think of it as a love letter to the United States, timed perfectly for the nation’s semiquincentennial celebration.
Why EPCOT Is Getting It First
Disney hasn’t explained the scheduling decision, but it’s a rare win for the East Coast. Typically, major Soarin’ updates have debuted at Disney California Adventure before making their way to Florida. This time, EPCOT takes the lead by more than five weeks—a nice surprise for guests planning spring and early summer trips to Walt Disney World.
The timing also makes strategic sense. Memorial Day weekend is one of the busiest travel periods of the year, and launching a patriotic attraction during a holiday that honors American service members creates a natural thematic tie-in.

Soarin’ Across America is just one piece of Disney’s months-long celebration of the United States’ 250th birthday. The “Disney Celebrates America” campaign runs from Veterans Day 2025 through July 4th weekend 2026, and it includes special patriotic fireworks shows at both Magic Kingdom and Disneyland from July 3-5, 2026.
