In case you missed the Magic Kingdom outfits post, here’s a quick refresher on what Disney inspired outfits, or Disneybounding is. Disneybounding is a fashionable way to dress like a character. Disneybounders use everyday clothing to emulate a particular character. This is a great way for adults to “dress up” but not violate the rules at Disney World, since adults are not allowed to wear costumes into the parks.
Hollywood Studios has lots of different characters or themes in the park that are ripe for some great outfits, so let’s dig right in.
Toy Story
The newest land in Hollywood Studios is at the top of our list, Toy Story Land. And with that comes with a ton of options for characters to dress like, or bound as. The obvious being Buzz, Jessie, and Woody, all of whom character meet and greets as well.
The two newest rides may also give you some inspiration, Slinky Dog and the Aliens. Of course there are all the toys that show up along Toy Story Mania and the theming of the park. Hamm, Rex, Ken & Barbie, Lotso, Bo Peep, Sid Phillips, Andy’s Room, Pizza Planet, Stinky Pete, Wheezy, and Mr. Prickle Pants, just to name a few.
Star Wars
Even though Galaxy’s Edge isn’t open yet, there are still plenty of opportunities to dress like a Star Wars character, and potentially run into those characters at Hollywood Studios.
There is Jedi Training for kids aged 4-12, where they fight either Darth Vader or Kylo Ren, so kids could dress similarly to those villains or as a member of the Rebel Alliance.
Inside Star Wars Launch Bay you can meet Kylo Ren, sometimes with Captain Phasma, BB-8, and Chewbacca. There are also many Storm Troopers roaming around who will interact with you. You will also occasionally see characters like Boba Fett and Rey wandering around.
Don’t forget to get a photo on the Speeder Bike across from the exit of Star Tours!
Disney Junior
Hollywood Studios has a bunch of options for the younger kids as well. There are plenty of Disney Junior characters to meet. The first place you may want to try is breakfast at Hollywood & Vine, it is a character breakfast that has Sofia the First, Roadster Goofy, Vampirina, and Doc McStuffins!
If you don’t want to do a character breakfast you can also try the character meet and greets with Doc, Vampirina, and Sofia. Or check out the new Disney Jr Dance Party. The Dance Party just started in the Fall of 2018, but it features Roadster Mickey, Vampirina, Timon and Doc.
Fab Five
Another park where you can dress like the classic characters! If you want a character meal that isn’t breakfast, you may want to try Hollywood & Vine for lunch or dinner. At these meals Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy meet in seasonal outfits, for example in the summer you can find them in their beach gear.
You can also meet Mickey and Minnie in a meet and greet in their Red Carpet outfits. And soon Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will be coming very soon!
Extras: Incredibles, Monsters, Inc. , Cars, Frozen, Muppets, Frozen
Now open at Hollywood Studios is Pixar Place. The Incredibles Dance Party, similar to what was at Magic Kingdom, with Mr. & Mrs. Incredible, and Frozone is happening, you may also get a special appearance from Jack-Jack. There is also a meet and greet for Edna Mode! This is only open until September 30, 2019, so if this is your favorite character or family to dress like, you might want to get over to Hollywood Studios as soon as possible.
In the same building where you can see One Man’s Dream is the Mike & Sully, from Monsters Inc., meet and greet. This meet and greet is open now!
The Lightning McQueen Racing Experience is coming March 31, 2019! After the experience you get a chance to have a photo with Cruz Ramirez. You could dress like any of the characters from the Cars franchise; Lightning, Tow Mater, Cruz, etc… And if you are staying at Art of Animation, this would be the perfect time to take photos with the cars that are displayed around the resort.
A few other options that you may have at Hollywood Studios are: Indiana Jones, Muppet Babies, and Frozen. You have the Indiana Jones stage show, the Muppet Babies show, the Frozen: Sing-a-long, and an Olaf Meet & Greet!
