Disney Just Set Typhoon Lagoon’s Reopening Date — Here’s When the Water Park Returns

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will reopen on January 27, 2027, Disney announced on November 5, 2026, following the seasonal refurbishment that closed the park on September 9, 2026. Disney paired the reopening date with fresh pricing for its Disney Water Park Seasonal Pass — a $89 pass for guests ages 10 and up. It was the clearest piece of Walt Disney World operational news in an otherwise holiday-merchandise-heavy week.

Typhoon Lagoon Reopens January 27, 2027, With an $89 Seasonal Pass

According to Disney’s announcement, Typhoon Lagoon returns January 27, 2027, while Disney’s Blizzard Beach stays open through January 26 — so Walt Disney World keeps at least one water park running through the handoff rather than going dark.

Disney also laid out the Water Park Seasonal Pass pricing: $89 plus tax for guests ages 10 and up, and $83 plus tax for ages 3 to 9. The pass is valid through May 15, 2027, with blackout dates of February 19–21 and March 20–28, 2027. Passholders get one round of mini golf before 4 p.m. on a single date at Winter Summerland or Fantasia Gardens and Fairways, plus 20% off same-day rentals of Polar Patios and Beachcomber Shacks (booked in person only).

Disney spotlighted the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool, which Disney bills as North America’s largest wave pool, along with the Crush ‘n’ Gusher water coaster, Castaway Creek, and the kid-sized Ketchakiddee Creek. On our visits, the Surf Pool is where we always stake out a lounger first, so a January reopening means we won’t have to wait for summer to catch that wave.

Disney Rolls Out Its 2026 Holiday Gift Cards and Pin Series

In the same window, Disney unveiled its 2026 holiday gift card designs and a stocking-themed pin series, announced on November 5, 2026. The card lineup leans festive: Sleeping Beauty Castle, Jack Skellington, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Stitch, plus a Mickey-as-train-engineer card and a Chip ‘n’ Dale candy-cane design sold throughout Walt Disney World Resort and at the World of Disney store at Disneyland Resort.

Two designs are tied to specific park festivals. A fiesta-themed wristlet featuring José Carioca, Panchito, and Donald Duck is made for the Disney Festival of Holidays at Disney California Adventure, running November 13, 2026, through January 6, 2027. A Mickey-and-Minnie seasonal-attire card ties to the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, November 27 through December 30, 2026. On DisneyStore.com, the Mickey and Minnie Winter Skating physical card ships in $25, $50, $100, $150, $200, and $500 denominations, with a Pluto digital card delivered by email. Disney notes the cards work for theme park tickets, dining, Disney Store purchases, and even Disney+.

The matching pin series — stocking-shaped Mickey, Minnie, Stitch, and Jack Skellington pins — is sold throughout both resorts, with free coordinating wallpapers for phone, desktop, and smartwatch. We’ve found these seasonal cards make the easiest holiday stocking-stuffer for the Disney fan who already has everything.
