Carnival Conquest is back in Miami, and it’s not the same ship that left. After a 12-day dry dock at Grand Bahama Shipyard, the ship returned to service on February 20, 2026 with a batch of new and refreshed spaces—including a brand new bar built to honor military veterans, an expanded casino, and renovated entertainment areas.
If you’ve been on the Conquest before and written it off, this might be the time to take another look. And if you’ve never sailed it, you’re now looking at a meaningfully upgraded experience.
The New Centerpiece: Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge
The headline addition is the Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge, a new onboard venue that honors military veterans and active-duty service members. According to Carnival’s official press release, proceeds from souvenir glass sales and the signature Heroes American Pale Ale benefit Operation Homefront, a nonprofit that supports military families.
It’s a concept that fits well onboard a ship whose entire fleet is named after artistic and cultural achievements—and it gives travelers a reason to plant themselves at the bar beyond just the drinks.
Casino, Arcades, and Teen Spaces All Got Attention
The dry dock wasn’t just about one new bar. Carnival used the 12 days to refresh several other areas:
- Casino expansion: The gaming floor was redesigned with more options and a dedicated non-smoking area—something many cruisers have been asking for.
- Club O2: The teen space was newly added, featuring gaming areas and updated décor.
- WAREHOUSE Video Arcade: Renovated for a more interactive experience.
- Retail: Updated boutiques now include Effy, Pandora, and Swarovski.
These aren’t groundbreaking changes, but they add up. A refreshed casino layout and a proper teen space make a difference on a week-long sailing with family.
What This Means for Your Cruise
Carnival Conquest is back sailing year-round from Miami on short Caribbean and Bahamas itineraries, including stops at Carnival’s private destination Celebration Key on Grand Bahama Island.
If you’re planning a Bahamas or short Caribbean sailing out of Miami, the Conquest is now sailing with updated amenities and a ship that just came out of drydock—meaning everything is fresh, cleaned up, and operating off a full maintenance cycle. That matters more than travelers often realize. A ship fresh off drydock is typically in better mechanical condition and cleaner overall than one that’s been in continuous service for 18 months.
The Timing
The dry dock ran from February 6 through February 19, 2026. The ship’s first sailing after returning was a 3-night Bahamas voyage departing February 20. That turnaround is tight—but Carnival has clearly been planning this upgrade cycle for some time given the scope of what was completed in under two weeks.
For travelers booking later in 2026, the Conquest’s revamped spaces will be ready and settled in by the time most spring and summer sailings depart. Worth keeping on your radar.
