If you’ve been missing the magic of “Happily Ever After” at Magic Kingdom, we have excellent news: Disney’s beloved nighttime spectacular is officially returning on January 1, 2026, with nightly performances at 9:00 PM.
According to WDWNT, the fan-favorite fireworks show will resume its regular schedule after the holiday season wraps up. Right now, Magic Kingdom is running seasonal shows including “Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks” and the New Year’s Eve “Fantasy in the Sky” spectacular. But come January 1st, “Happily Ever After” takes center stage once again.
A Show Worth the Wait
For those keeping track, “Happily Ever After” has had quite the journey. The show originally debuted in May 2017 and quickly became one of the most beloved nighttime experiences at any Disney park worldwide. Its combination of fireworks, projection mapping on Cinderella Castle, and that iconic soundtrack struck a chord with guests that reverberates to this day.
The show took a hiatus in 2021 when “Disney Enchantment” debuted as part of Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration. But fan demand brought it back in 2023, and Disney has continued refining the experience. Last year, the company upgraded the show’s spotlights to create even more dramatic beams shooting into the night sky, making the spectacle even more impressive.
What This Means for Your 2026 Visit
If you’re planning a Magic Kingdom visit in early 2026, this is fantastic news. “Happily Ever After” consistently ranks as one of the most requested experiences by Disney fans, and for good reason. The show’s message of hope, dreams, and believing in yourself resonates with guests of all ages, and the technical execution is simply stunning.
The 9:00 PM showtime means you can plan your park day accordingly, whether you want to stake out a prime viewing spot on Main Street U.S.A., grab a dessert party reservation, or watch from a more relaxed vantage point elsewhere in the park.
For those visiting during the holiday season before January 1st, you’ll still get to experience the seasonal shows, which have their own charm and magic. But if “Happily Ever After” is on your must-see list, mark January 1, 2026 on your calendar as the official return date.
The fact that Disney continues to invest in and refine this show—including those spotlight upgrades—suggests the company recognizes just how special “Happily Ever After” is to guests. And we couldn’t agree more.
