Halloween Comes Early to Magic Kingdom — Here's Everything Disney Just Announced About MNSSHP 2026
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2026 dates are here, and this year's lineup brings a brand-new Stitch masquerade, all the classic favorites, and the earliest start date in the event's history.
If you’re a Disney Halloween fan, this week handed you a reason to start planning immediately. On April 28, Disney officially announced the dates and details for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2026 — and this year’s event is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious lineups the party has ever seen.
According to the Disney Parks Blog, the 2026 party kicks off on August 7 and runs through October 31, on select nights at Magic Kingdom. That August 7 start date is the earliest the event has ever launched in its history. If you’ve been burned before by trying to snag tickets to a sold-out October night, the expanded calendar is very welcome news.
What’s New This Year: Stitch Takes Over Tomorrowland
The headline addition for 2026 is a brand-new Stitch-hosted dance party at the Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland. Lilo and Angel join him, and the gimmick is clever: Stitch gets into Lilo’s Costume Trunk, and every accessory he tries on shifts the theme of the party — keeping things unpredictable throughout the night. It sounds like exactly the kind of low-key, character-driven fun that works well for families who aren’t rushing from one ticketed event to the next.
The Returning Fan Favorites
The rest of the entertainment lineup reads like a greatest hits collection, and we mean that as a genuine compliment. These are the events people plan their fall trips around:
- Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular — The Sanderson Sisters return to the Castle Forecourt Stage alongside a full roster of Disney Villains
- Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade — The 8:15 PM parade with costumed characters and the always-beloved Headless Horseman
- Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular — Castle projection show and fireworks hosted by Jack Skellington
- Cadaver Dans — The a cappella quartet performs in Frontierland, and if you haven’t caught them before, make time
Character greetings include Jack Skellington and Sally, Mickey and Minnie in Halloween costumes, Pooh in his bumblebee suit, and royal pairs like Ariel and Eric and Aladdin and Jasmine. Disney also teased “surprise character appearances along the candy trails” — which is a fun way of saying keep your eyes open while you trick-or-treat.
Trick-or-Treating and Entry Details
Candy stations are spread across more than a dozen locations throughout the park, all stocked with Mars Wrigley favorites. Disney provides complimentary treat bags, so you don’t need to bring your own.
Party guests can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4:00 PM, with festivities officially beginning at 7:00 PM. That gives you up to eight hours in the park on party nights — plenty of time to hit the rides, snag your candy, and still catch the parade and fireworks without feeling rushed.
When to Buy Tickets
Here’s the practical part. Tickets go on sale in two waves:
- May 5: Resort guests at Disney Resorts Collection hotels, the Swan and Dolphin, and Shades of Green get first access — for event dates during their stay
- May 12: General ticket sales open to everyone else at disneyworld.com/halloween or by calling 407-934-7639
Annual Passholders and eligible Disney Vacation Club Members receive a $10 discount per ticket for events running August 7 through October 2.
Our Take
The expanded run is the real story here. More August and early September dates mean more flexibility for families who can’t get to Orlando in October, and it gives the park room to spread demand across a longer window rather than cramming everyone into a handful of peak-October nights.
The Stitch masquerade is a genuinely fresh idea. Most new MNSSHP entertainment in recent years has been character walk-arounds or minor tweaks to existing shows. A full hosted dance party with a running theme-shift gimmick is the kind of thing that gives families a reason to linger in Tomorrowland instead of treating it as a pass-through on the way to Fantasyland.
If you’re planning a fall Walt Disney World trip, Halloween season is one of the best times to go — and this year’s party looks like it’s earning that reputation.
