Super Nintendo World Is Going Galactic Starting Today — Here's What's Waiting for You

Today is MAR10 Day — March 10th, the annual fan celebration of all things Mario — and Universal is marking the occasion with something genuinely worth planning around. Starting this morning, both Universal Studios Hollywood and Epic Universe at Universal Orlando Resort have launched a limited-time Super Mario Galaxy Movie celebration that runs daily through April 13, 2026, timed to the film’s theatrical premiere on April 1.

The news comes directly from Universal’s official press release, and if you have a visit planned to either park between now and mid-April, there is a real case for timing your day to take it in.

Yoshi Is Doing Meet and Greets — and That’s a Big Deal

The centerpiece of the celebration is a Yoshi meet and greet inside Super Nintendo World at both parks. Character meets in Super Nintendo World have historically been limited, so having Yoshi available for photo opportunities on a daily basis through April 13 is a notable addition for families.

If you’ve been looking for the right moment to bring kids (or Nintendo-loving adults) through Super Nintendo World, this window gives you something extra to anchor the visit around.

The Food Is Worth Seeking Out

Universal has put genuine effort into the themed menu for this event. The two standout items:

  • Rosalina Cupcake — a blue velvet cupcake filled with blueberry cheesecake, finished with lemon buttercream, a chocolate crown, and a star topper. It’s as photogenic as it sounds.
  • Galaxy Popcorn — multicolored, berry-flavored, and dusted with edible glitter. If you’re going to eat popcorn in a theme park, this is the version to find.

Additional specialty desserts are available at select dining locations within the parks. These kinds of limited-run food items tend to sell out as the event gains momentum, so earlier in the window is better.

The Merchandise Has a Clever Twist

Universal is offering what they’re calling interactive Luma Shoulder Pals — small plush figures themed to the Luma characters from the film, available in blue and yellow. What sets them apart: the figures include light and sound features, and when two of them are brought close together, they communicate with each other. It’s a clever piece of park merchandise that actually does something, which puts it a step above most souvenir impulse buys.

Don’t Overlook CityWalk

The celebration extends beyond the park gates. Both Universal CityWalk Orlando and Universal CityWalk Hollywood have galactic tunnel-style photo opportunities inspired by the film — free to access without a park ticket. If you’re visiting the resort area but not heading into the parks, it’s still worth a stop.

Why This Matters for Your Spring Trip

Spring break travel to Universal tends to spike in March and April, which means the parks will be busy. Having a concrete, time-sensitive reason to be at Super Nintendo World on a particular day — a character meet that isn’t normally available, food that disappears after April 13 — gives your trip a natural anchor point and helps with prioritization when the crowd maps start looking complicated.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie itself opens April 1, which means the first weekend of April is likely to see peak interest in everything Nintendo-related inside the parks. If flexibility allows, the weeks of March 16 through March 28 may offer a slightly better experience before theatrical release drives the biggest crowds.

The celebration runs through April 13, 2026, at Super Nintendo World inside both Universal Studios Hollywood and Epic Universe at Universal Orlando Resort. The film opens in theaters April 1.
