Sailor Moon, Scooby-Doo, and Dungeons & Dragons Walk Into Universal Studios Hollywood This Spring

Universal Studios Hollywood just locked in the full lineup for Universal Fan Fest Nights 2026, and the headliner might surprise you. Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon is making her first-ever appearance at a U.S. Universal park — and she is bringing five other franchises along for the ride.

The after-hours event runs 12 select nights from April 23 through May 16, and every experience is available every night, so you can pick the date that works for your schedule without worrying about missing anything.

The Full Lineup

Six experiences will rotate through the park each night. Here is what you are walking into.

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon: Moon Palace Chapter Deluxe is the marquee addition. The computer-animated short film, which originally debuted at Universal Studios Japan’s Cool Japan event, follows Super Sailor Moon as she battles an enemy targeting the Legendary Silver Crystal during an enchanting ball at Moon Palace. It will play inside the DreamWorks Theatre and is presented in Japanese with English subtitles. This is the first time a Sailor Moon experience has appeared at any Universal park outside of Japan.

Scooby-Doo Meets The Universal Monsters: Mystery on the Backlot is a brand-new immersive walkthrough experience. Guests become extras on a film set where the classic Universal Monsters have been unleashed, and the only way out is to team up with Mystery Inc. to solve it. Mixing two of the most recognizable IP libraries in entertainment history is a smart move, and the backlot setting is a natural fit for Hollywood.

Harry Potter: Forbidden Forest — A Search for the Hippogriff takes guests on a new nighttime adventure through the Forbidden Forest. Details are still thin, but anything involving the Wizarding World after dark tends to deliver.

One Piece: Grand Pirate Show brings a new show format to the event, with live battles, stunts, and pyrotechnics. If you caught last year’s One Piece presence at Fan Fest Nights, expect a significant upgrade.

Super Nintendo World: Colorful Yoshi Celebration adds a new interactive puzzle experience to the land, along with Yoshi character meet-and-greets.

Dungeons & Dragons: Secrets of Waterdeep returns after being one of the breakout hits of last year’s event. The immersive experience lets guests choose a character class and work together to foil a plot by the legendary beholder Xanathar. Expect enhancements for the 2026 run.

Dates and Tickets

Fan Fest Nights runs on the following dates: April 23, 24, 25; May 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, and 16. All 12 nights feature every experience.

Two ticket options are available: General Admission for a single night and the Ultimate Fandom Pass for access to multiple event nights. Presale ticket buyers also receive a limited-edition collectible medallion. Tickets start at $71.10.

Worth the Trip?

Fan Fest Nights carved out a loyal following in its first year by leaning into franchises that do not normally get the theme park treatment. Sailor Moon alone will draw a crowd that does not typically show up for a Universal after-hours event — and pairing it with Dungeons & Dragons, One Piece, and a Scooby-Doo/Universal Monsters mashup gives the lineup genuine range.

If you are already planning a spring trip to Southern California, blocking out one evening for Fan Fest Nights is an easy call. And if you are not, this might be the reason to start.
