As we’re all coping with a global pandemic, one thing that many of us are holding on to is that promise of a nice vacation. There are a handful of apps out there for counting down to a vacation, but having tried most of them, we decided we could do better.

Countdown by Magical Trip Guide is also a great iOS citizen. It supports Siri Shortcuts, allowing you to ask Siri to “check my vacation countdown”, right on your iPhone or Apple Watch and to incorporate your countdown into any routine within the Shortcuts app. New for iOS 14, the app also includes widgets so you can check your countdown right from your home screen. With full support for both light and dark modes, the app looks beautiful under any configuration. And, for users of assistive tech, you’ll find it is fully optimized for accessibility features such as VoiceOver and Dynamic Type.
